Last month I had attended the opening night of Concept L.A. Fashion Week at the Spring Arts Tower in downtown LA. Combining runway shows with presentations, the atmosphere was casual and lent a nice flexibility for attendees to view the installations between shows.
Designers who presented runway shows included Chelsea Rebelle, B. Scott and Fremont.
Below are some photos I took showcasing the various installations by Otto Gates, Mike Vensel, Elmer Ave and Farm Tactics.
Otto Gates

Otto Gates designer Katie Kay
Titled “Love in the Time of Fast Fashion”, it’s amazing to think Otto Gates’ installation was created in a matter of 72 hours by designer Katie Kay, formerly a designer with LA-based Skingraft. The modern all-black installation was a preview of Kay’s first solo line, which will debut in October.

Mike Vensel

Characterized as a modern minimalist designer, Mike Vensel’s installation showcased body-hugging lycra dresses that would flatter a number of women. The dresses shown above would be great additions to my LBD collection.

Elmer Ave

Elmer Ave took the prize for most interesting and attention-grabbing installation of the night. After looking at their other collections online, Elmer Ave’s lines are infused with an edgy, rock and roll vibe, and full of clothes I’d love to wear.
Farm Tactics

Farm Tactics designer Kyle Ng

Reinterpreting past influences and making them modern is at the core of Farm Tactics’ designer Kyle Ng’s design philosophy. Showcasing workwear shirts, bags made from repurposed vintage military fabric and those amazing moccasins (pictured above), I was impressed by the craftmanship of Ng’s collection. If you’re on the hunt to get your guy something special, check out Farm Tactics now.

I am loving the lace tights with those boots. You look so pretty.
You’re so lucky to be able to attend installations like that. My town has some culture, but nothing as extreme as what your pictures show.
