Having been a long-time Sex and the City fan, I’m looking forward to the movie sequel, and more importantly, checking out the amazing wardrobe the ladies get to wear. Last week, Mel and I headed to The Pink Carpet Soirée at the Bungalow Club in West Hollywood to celebrate the release of Sex and the City 2, courtesy of HeyDoYou.com.

As if the night wasn’t fabulous enough, Mel and I met Laney (pictured above) who let us know she started following both our blogs when she was still living in Taiwan. I love hearing feedback from people via the comments section but to meet someone in person makes it that much more special.
Thanks so much, Laney!

Do you have a stash of clothes or accessories that you’ve sadly outgrown but have only worn a handful of times? Since my tastes tend to evolve pretty quickly, I usually have the what was I thinking moments when going through my closet, coming to the conclusion that I will just never wear some things again.
A fabulous alternative to selling or donating (both of which I’ve previously done) your unwanted clothing is holding a fashion swap party with your friends. Last weekend, Mel and I gathered our unwanted, hardly worn gear and headed to our first swap party at the wonderful home of Courtney from LA Vintage Exchange, where we had fun picking up some new threads while managing to free up space in our closets.
Kristen and Kristen, the dynamic duo from VainGlorious (pictured above), covered all the tips you need to know to throw your very own swap party.

The fabulous Courtney from LA Vintage Exchange hosted the swap event at her home.

I brought 10 items of clothing, and in turn, scored 10 great pieces to refresh my wardrobe. A fun way to get your fashionable friends together, I definitely see hosting a swap party of my own in the near future.
Wishing you a fabulous weekend!

H&M Garden Collection dress. Urban Outfitters chambray shirt & hat. Jeffrey Campbell Alexa wedge booties via LF Stores
Sadly, I have a stash of party & cocktail dresses that have only seen the day of light, or moonlight, a handful of times. Fortunately, this H&M Garden Collection dress is uber versatile, allowing me to get more mileage out of it than standard party wear. I went the chambray layering route this time, but for my next casual outing, I’ll be covering up the top portion with an oversized sweater to make the dress appear as a skirt.
Do you ever dress down your cocktail dresses for daytime wear?
If so, share your styling tips in the comments section!

UPDATE: These beauties just arrived at Oak NYC.
Meet the Jeffrey Campbell Xanadu Fur Bootie. I’m in lust.

Cutting right to the chase, we met Chanel Iman!
A few weeks ago Mel and I met up with Nora from Fashion + Geometry and her boyfriend Ryan at the Vintage Expo in Santa Monica. Though I was a bit bummed to walk out empty-handed, I was stocked that we had the chance to meet, let alone spot, the model sensation. Chanel was super sweet and naturally gorgeous. I love her sweater cardigan.

This photo cracks me up, mainly because I can’t believe how much air we managed to get.
Thanks to Ryan for our mini photo sesh outside of the Expo and capturing our silliness and giggle-fest session. Yes, I just said giggle. Rarely do I use that word, but that’s what naturally ensued after several attempts at prolonging our hang time.
It’s funny that something as small as jumping in the air can make you feel jovial. I also look like I’m 13.
Hope your weekend is as carefree as this photo.
