Vintage wrap. H&M top and faux leather pants. Dolce Vita Pela wedges. hat via local L.A. mall stand
Whenever I buy vintage, I can’t help but wonder about the previous owner.
How did she style it? Where did she buy it from or was it a gift? Why did she set it free?
And then sometimes I come up with my own conclusions…
She was a woman who enjoyed standing out. She loved wearing bright colors and contrasting patterns didn’t scare her. She wore this wrap while lounging around; threw it on over her bathing suit after a day at the pool; belted it with a LBD underneath and heels on her soles; wore it open with denim cutoffs and her hair tied up in a messy bun. She was the type of person who valued comfort just as much as style. She marched to the beat of her own drum, likely giving up this wrap when her shopping habits raged out of control and she needed to make room for new treasures. She also thought someone else would enjoy it as much as she did… Lounging around after a day at the pool to nurse that hangover… after the night drinking cocktails with her girlfriends in her LBD… which was her reward after a busy day of running errands with her hair in a messy bun and in her denim cutoffs.
I’ll likely follow in her footsteps when I style this $20 wrap. With the sleeves being mega-sized, I slid a stretched-out rubber band on each arm to change the shape of the sleeves. It’s an easy solution to ensure you don’t drown in a garment you’re already swimming in.
Cheers to creating new memories and stories in your own vintage treasures.

like bright colors and contrasting patterns!
This is so you! I can also picture it belted, with some high heels for a more formal look. I hope you never set it free

The outfit’s pretty gnarly with some illmatic pants. Glad there are no bedazzled glittering yellow shoes.

Girl, you are a master of wearing those fly colors. Teach me your ways! My closet is so melancholy sometimes with all the black and blues I wear, haha. This February, it’s my goal to bring back the color! Although, I like to think that what color I lack in my outfits, is made up via my jolly spirit!
I also love those inspirational photos you just posted up there. In college, my friends used to make fun of me for wearing what they called “tribal” dresses and prints. Look who is laughing now! Tribal is back in style, haha!
AND, I will most definitely be back in LA soon and when I do we will meet up!

Just saw your nail polish comment. I WAS JESSICA. I wanted to be anyway.
I also loved Lila…. but I do share Elizabeth’s love for journalism. I never liked Janet very much though..

Ohmigosh Becs this is CRAZY – I featured those exact wedges (and a look for less) just last week on Cafe Fashionista. I love love seeing them on you – the color is gorg!!
Love the colours hun! Hope your well! Mwah xx
This makes me so happy! The colours, the ease of the ensemble and the whole vibe makes me forget that it is biting cold outside and instead leads me to remembering that summer is just a heartbeat away;)
