Motel dress via Nasty Gal. H&M socks. Forever 21 shoes (photos by Melanie)
An ode to my recent random thoughts…
Another night, another nightmare. What does it all mean? The latest one took place on a rollercoaster, and beyond that, the details are now sketchy. All I do know is that I hate rollercoasters so the dream probably wasn’t a good one. The movie 500 Days of Summer has been on cable recently and only reinforces my love for Joseph Gordon-Levitt even more. Where can I find a JGL doppelganger? I tend to quote lines from Pineapple Express, I Love You, Man and The Hangover (“toodooloo mother…”), as well as do a mean impression of Carol’s howl at the end of Where the Wild Things Are. There’s something about red lipstick that makes me want to vamp it up… even more. Contemplating pairing this dress with my H&M tan leopard print high-waisted trousers for a Dolce & Gabbana mixing of the patterns effect. If I haven’t returned your comment over the last few days, I suck… but expect to hear from me soon. Promise!

H&M dress (worn as top). Spanish Moss Vintage leather shorts. Vintage shoes. Zara bag
Melted in the heat last weekend at the annual Sunset Junction Street Fair. I’ve been searching for vintage leather shorts for awhile now and, in lightning speed fashion, jumped on these high-waisted babies from Spanish Moss Vintage as soon as they were posted online.

You know how some things are better left alone and shouldn’t be tampered with, no matter how tempting? Case in point, these french fries with Nutella and peanut butter. Fries? Great. Nutella? Even better. Peanut butter? Now we’re talking. But all together… eh.

poor form + poor hangtime = lamesauce

Harem pants are not conducive to split jumps… neither is attempting a split jump when you are massively out of shape. This is double lamesauce.
American Apparel top. H&M pants. Aldo boots. Urban Outfitters hat
I’m crazy for prints right now, and pulled out my H&M floral pants yesterday. I’ve worn these ridiculous pants HERE but wanted to pair them with a simple cropped top. Desperately need a new black hat since I’ve managed to wear this one all summer long, despite it being wool. That’s the thing about living in LA… my seasons all blend together. I never really put away any of my winter clothing because I tend to layer up at night.
My weekend was capped off with some yummy dim sum.

Ugh, I hate Mondays. Here’s to kicking Monday in the ass. Hard.

Just some photos snapped (among other random, never before published ones) over the weekend during a KFC-filled picnic in Griffith Park with my new Dolce Vita Pela wedges. Smart is wearing those wedges to the park only to trounce through dirt-ridden grassy patches, and smart is also wearing all black while laying out in the 80 degree heat.
Yesterday I picked up those faux suede 4″ platforms (above) from Forever 21. The same style is also available online with tiny polka dots. Sadly I needed to return the Jessica Simpson Dany shoes because, as hard as I tried, I just couldn’t walk in those heels without imagining myself falling down and breaking my ankle. Since I don’t wear heels on a daily basis, I’ve developed this magical awkward aversion to them, aka I walk terribly slowly and more cautiously. However, these F21 shoes are way more manageable. Next up on my Fall shopping list — socks and thigh-highs screaming to be paired with my new platforms.
