Hurley Dress via Swell. Topshop beanie. Old Express denim jacket
I went a little Photoshop happy. If you’re lacking in the curve department (like me), this dress will give you a boost. Via Swell, this Hurley dress was actually designed for (also Hurley model) Bar Refaeli to wear at last year’s MTV VMA’s. The Swell Blog interviewed the designers about why they created this simple, yet chic and body-hugging-in-all-the-right-places dress for the gorg model. Still available online at Swell. I’ve decided I’m going to make some select tears in this old denim jacket. I’ll post the finished product (if it comes out OK).
H&M dress (worn as a top). Urban Outfitters skirt and headband. Victoria Secret cardigan. Steve Madden shoes. Forever 21 chain. QVC and HSN rings
Tucked my H&M purple multi-tiered ruffle dress into this Urban Renewal pleated skirt. Purple and blue are within the same spectrum of colors, right? It’s kind of like when I wear red and pink together and tell myself that it’s OK because they’re within the same family of colors. The rings I’m wearing are from QVC and HSN. Don’t laugh. One of these days I’ll write about the fab jewelry that they offer, and you’ll thank me for it. I don’t actually watch QVC or HSN, but it’s highly addictive to scour through the huge jewelry selection online, and most of the time they have the video clips of the on-air presentations and informative customer reviews to help sway your buying decisions.
BTW, I know I look super lame in that one pic, but it’s because I was disoriented from spinning around like a dumbass to show off the movement of the ruffles and pleats.
I’m tiered ruffled-crazy right now, which explains why I got this Kimchi Blue Rufflesnake Bandeau at Urban Outfitters today. I’d never wear this alone because it’s a bra, but thought it could be a bonus throw-on if I needed to spice up a plain tank or one of my strappy knit dresses.
H&M tank. Urban Outfitters bandeau, shorts and boots. Zara blazer
It’s not my norm style to throw on a bra over a tank, but the tiered ruffles had me at hello and drowned away any prelim hesitancy.
Charlotte Russe dress. Colin Stuart shoes. French Connection sunglasses
Floral prints never go out of style. See my first grade photo above. When I want to be girly, I go with a floral print dress but like to throw on an oversized blazer or faux leather jacket with some ankle booties to toughen up the look. Every so often I have an urge to check out the junior clothing Web sites because I can still fit into those clothes and sometimes they have really cute stuff for dirt cheap. Recently, I bought this floral dress from Charlotte Russe because a. it has a sweetheart neckline (love) and b. it has a bubble hem (double love). It’s totally 80’s with the oversized bow in the front and double skirt, but that’s why I love it. And at $33, I couldn’t resist.
