Links à la Mode: The IFB Weekly Roundup

In great company this week, with my Man Up post being included in the latest Links à la Mode. Thanks for the love, IFB!

Let’s Hear It For The Boys

Edited By Taylor Davies

For this week’s LALM round up, I’d like to pay tribute to the men out there. I’ve noticed over the past few months that we’ve had a lot more menswear bloggers contributing their posts to the forum, showing their taste, their interpretation of trends and great writing style. Sprinkled in with Russian style icons, DIY projects and a gorgeous photo shoot set at a chateau in France – you’ll find some menswear posts that will inspire the dudes and the ladies.

Shopbop Sale: Joie, Black Halo, Josh Goot, Zimmermann, PJK, Enza Costa, Olcay Gulsen, By Zoe, Saloni & Matiko

MEN’S SWEATERS (aside from a button down):  One of the few times you can get away with the illest (worst) fit and it’s still perfectly acceptable because you’re borrowing from your guy. I’m all about graphic and texture sweaters right now, with the jacquard pattern being high on my shopping priority list.

These gems are just a click away in the Men’s section!

“I get by with a little help from my friends”

I’m fortunate to say that the people I’ve met through blogging and via Twitter IRL have been all-around great people.  It’s funny to reflect upon how certain friendships and relationships formed; who initiated that first blog comment or thought to follow who first and bravely send out the tweet that would start it all.

Meet James of The Mod Revival (pictured left) and Gabe of The History Of My World.  Follow them on Twitter… because, um, that’s how I met them.  James’ Twitter handle is @JFKJean and Gabe’s is @gabealonso.

While James is not being featured in Jake Davis’ test shots HERE, he’s combing the streets of NYC, taking street style photos that are not only unique but that also capture the true personality of each subject.  Check out James’ Tumblr, The Mod Rockers, for some daily inspiration.

Gabe is a fellow New Jersey native… need I say more?  Fist pump.  Keeping me up to speed on the latest music happenings, he also writes for MTV Music so feel free to pitch him your story ideas, aspiring artists and music publicists.  His Tumblr, Pleats Are For Lovers, is another must-follow to add to your Google Readers.

Audrey’s Night Out 2010: Style Highlights

Last Thursday, I was fortunate enough to attend Audrey’s Night Out 2010 presented by Asian American women’s publication Audrey Magazine at the Petersen Automotive Museum.  Brimmed to the max with fashion, live musical and dance performances and a stylish crowd, the night was tons of fun.

A full report on the festivities will follow but I wanted to first share some photos I snapped of the party-goers that caught my eye, style-wise.

justin chon-david choe

Justin Chon of “Twilight” / Celeb Runway Host for the night and David Choe, muralist, are the epitome of laidback Cali cool.

Looking dandy from head to toe never goes out of style.

Heart everything about this look, from the pink and navy combo to how her neon green nail polish pops against the navy blazer.

Alan, owner of pop-up boutique Six Hundred in downtown LA, rocks the shawl collar cardigan look.

How cute is this girl?! Ultimate glam-chic look, and her Sam Edelman Lorissa shoes are lust-worthy.

Purple gingham (FTW) with the black tie is a sweet combo.

Any girl that can pull off this hairstyle deserves her picture to be taken.  Loves it.
