Though this jacket is obscenely over-sized for my barely 5’3″ frame, I’m determined to make it work. Roll up the sleeves here, scrunch them there. Had fallen for the Acne Fever Torn jacket so when I saw this 2.0 look-alike, I knew I had to have it. Dip-dye and all.
Perfect fall weather coat… if we ever start experiencing fall weather in Los Angeles! It’s officially October and what’s the temperature today? Just a cool 90 degrees!
IF modern day school girl uniforms were made of lace and mid-thigh lengths passed the acceptable grade, they’d look like this dress. Playing up the casual school girl look for the weekend, I wore my new Zara messenger bag and added the detachable neck tie from this Sway Chic blouse (worn HERE). PLUS, the touch of cranberry helped to break up the overly vanilla palette.
When in doubt, I prescribe to the KISS principle — Keep it simple, stupid. Best applicable on days when those sacred 20 minutes of extra shut eye trump your getting ready prep time, ESPECIALLY on Monday mornings. The denim on denim look is pretty stupid simple. Really, a no-brainer!

When I’m at a loss for what to wear — an occurrence that happens way more than it should – a chambray button-down paired with black skinnies is a look that never fails me. Thanks to my amazing (and patient) dad for snapping these photos when I was home on the east coast.
Just a few sneak peeks of a fun shoot I did this weekend with amazing photographers Carmen Chan and Ken Wu for How I Met Your Style. After shooting in my bedroom, we headed up to the rooftop, taking advantage of the gorgeous sunset against the Hollywood Hills. You will all love HIMYS, so check it out NOW.
Thanks so much to Carmen and Ken for working their magic! Can’t wait to show you the rest of the photos and profile with Mel!
