Picked up this oversized cocoon-like wrap at the LA Flea Market this past weekend from We Move Vintage. It instantly caught my eye with its 80s flair and built-in shoulder pads. I also got the gold HOPE double connector ring at the LA Flea Market. Of course, due to the extreme heat, I thought the ring fit me when I initially tried it on but now it doesn’t. So I stacked my F21 bird connector ring on top of it and voilà, I can now wear it.

Overall, the first LA Flea Market at Dodger Stadium was so-so. While the presence of multiple food trucks was a highlight (hello rajas fries), food doesn’t trump vendor quality. And so, will I be going to the LA Flea Market next month? Probably not. But I may go back in a few months to see if the number of vintage vendors have expanded. For now, I’ll stick with the Rose Bowl Flea Market and the occasional trek to Long Beach to check out the Antique Market (highly recommended).

Thanks to Mel, who had bought me this H&M Garden Collection jacket because she thought I’d love it (twin intuition), this is one of my fav throw-on pieces to dress up or down. I wear my vintage combats year-round, including in the heat, and will be pairing them with this jacket and denim cut-offs for a casual look during the cool LA summer nights.

This green nail polish by Sally Hansen has been getting major play on my nails lately because it’s a refreshing change from the navy blue I usually wear. Coincidentally, the nail polish is called ‘Going Green’, complementing the H&M Garden Collection which is made with environmentally adapted materials. And yes, I just realized I’m wearing Christmas colors.

fringe + headscarf + thigh high socks = in my element

These are old pics Mel and I took at the Rose Bowl Flea Market, or rather at the nearby park before heading into the market. I have terrible balance and so luckily I managed to stay on the log long enough for these shots.

When I was a youngin, I took gymnastics for a brief time and fell off the balance beam while trying to balance on one leg and lift the other leg straight back. Bruised my tailbone, and needless to say, that was the end of my short gymnastics stint.
